This book aims to represent a synthetic collection of the aspects that distinguish the species of ungulates present on the Italian territory, addressing in an essential way all the aspects of the biology of the individual species, schematized in individual monographs that illustrate the characteristics of each, from the systematic point of view , morphological and reproductive and alimentary biology. For each species is described, the systematic classification, the area of presence, European and Italian, the type of environment that hosts it, the consistency in the Italian territory, the census methods, the morphological characteristics that distinguish the individuals belonging to that particular species and the differences in the evolutionary phase and between the sexes. The age classes with the differences and the reproductive biology are described, with sample tables for morphology and reproduction.
